What is Chandrayaan-2
Chandrayaan-2 Mission is India’s second lunar exploration mission after Chandrayaan-1. Developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation, the mission was launched from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre on 22 July 2019 at 2.43 PM IST to the Moon by a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle(GSLV) Mark 3.
‘Chandrayaan-2’ is made in three stages. The total weight of the vehicle is 3,850 kilograms. The vehicles include an orbiter, a lander, and a rover.
‘Chandrayaan-2’ is regarded as the most complex and most prestigious mission of the ISRO organization to date. America was the first country to land on the moon, but India would be the first country to make a soft landing on the southern side of the moon.
Chandrayaan-2 ‘will descend into the Moon’s South Pole region. In that place no other country in the world has yet reached, India will reach there. From that point, India’s objective will be to help improve mankind’s understanding and knowledge of the moon’s earth. Chandrayaan-2 Mission launch
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has also successfully launched Chandrayan-2 after the success of Chandrayan-1.
